The changing life style and wrong eating habits have resulted in many dangerous and life threatening health problems. One such health problem which many people are facing nowadays is coronary heart disease. This problem is the root cause of many deadly diseases. Therefore it becomes very necessary to follow some preventive measures to keep the heart healthy. By making some changes in the eating habits and lifestyle, one can surely avoid this problem.

The major cause of the coronary heart disease is disturbance in the cholesterol level. If the "bad cholesterol" level (LDL) increases and the "good cholesterol" level decreases, then the result is coronary heart disease. The first thing which one should do to prevent this problem is to eat a healthy and balanced diet. Balanced diet does not mean eating less but it means eating right.

Make sure that you include low saturated fats in your diet. Take less sugar and salt as they lead to coronary heart diseases. Take lots of fruits and vegetables. You should take up to five portions of fruits and vegetables in a day. The reason for this is that many fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidant vitamins like beta-carotene and vitamin C and E.

These antioxidants prevent the saturated fats from being changed to cholesterol which leads to the coronary heart diseases. Make sure that whatever you include in your diet should be rich in fiber and starch but low in fats. Include full corn bread, cereals, peas, egg white and beans in your diet. Making changes in the diet can prove to be a wonder for your heart. The root cause of coronary diseases is wrong eating habits. Smoking is very unhealthy for heart so you should keep yourself away from it. Moderate drinking is recommended to keep the heart healthy but make sure not to take more than two drinks in a day.

Another major cause of heart problem is physical inactivity. Lack of movement results in obesity and this ultimately results in many health problems. Coronary heart disease is one of them. To prevent it, make sure you do regular exercise. Cardiovascular work out helps to increase the level of "good cholesterol" (HDL) and decrease the level of "bad cholesterol" (LDL). In addition to this, regular exercise keeps the body active. Obese body is more prone to heart problems. Therefore, it is very essential to burn the unwanted layer of fats through exercising. A slim body is a healthy and fit body so eat right and exercise daily.

Stress also leads to coronary heart problem. Stress leads to disturbance in the blood pressure which ultimately results in problems of the heart. Stay away from stress and be happy. Remember that a happy mind leads to a healthy body.

Making some changes in the lifestyle can prevent coronary heart disease. Be consistent in taking the balanced and healthy diet and follow an exercise schedule regularly. This will help you to attain a healthy heart and avoid the deadly coronary heart disease.
